Looking for a year-round patrolled beach safe for children? Try Kings Beach, Bulcock Beach or Golden Beach. Noosa's Main Beach is one of the few north-facing beaches on the east coast of Australia. Calm conditions make it a great spot for families and those learning to surf. Also north-facing, Mooloolaba Beach is a sheltered arc of white sand lined with shady parklands, picnic areas and playgrounds.

Looking for the best surfing spots on the Sunshine Coast? Pick up your surf board and head to Alexandra Headland, Sunshine Beach, Moffat Beach and the coastline between Coolum and Peregian Beaches. Noosa’s Main Beach hosts the Noosa Festival of Surfing.

Travelling with dogs? Look for off-leash beach areas at Currimundi Beach, Buddina Beach, Wurtulla Beach, Sunshine Beach, Marcus Beach and Mudjimba Beach.

Keen to sunbake in privacy? Mudjimba Beach and Marcoola Beach are local secrets. As are Warana, and Buddina Beaches near Kawana Waters.

Looking for adventure? Put the four-wheel-drive in gear and roll onto Rainbow Beach, past towering sand dunes and coloured sands. Rainbow Beach is also the gateway to World Heritage-listed Fraser Island.
