Mooloolaba

Mooloolaba at a glance

Ideal north-facing beach, vibrant al-fresco precinct and aquatic lifestyle

Mooloolaba continues to boast one of the coast's best beaches, with its north-east aspect ensuring protection from the elements. Mooloolaba is a favourite family destination,  with shady parklands, picnic areas and playgrounds for the kids.  During the past 10 years Mooloolaba has become one of Australia's most vibrant and exciting beachfront developments, the bustling Esplanade is filled with luxury resorts, designer shops, trendy cafes and al-fresco restaurants enticing thousands of visitors to the popular strip each year.

There is also no better place to grab fresh seafood right off the back of a trawler. East of Mudjimba Island you can explore the ex-HMAS Brisbane, a world-class diving site which boasts over 80 different species including clown fish, trevally and bull rays.

You don’t even have to get wet to experience the wonders of the ocean. At UnderWater World four interactive levels are filled with amazing ocean creatures. Watch an exciting seal performance, meet the otters or dive with the sharks. There’s a thrilling walk beneath gliding rays and giant sharks in a  80-metre transparent Oceanarium tunnel.

Mooloolaba is a haven for the boating lifestyle where you can kayak around the canals, hire a dinghy to explore the sheltered waters of the Mooloolah River or let the wind whip through your hair while sailing the ocean in a yacht.

Mooloolaba is also home of the Mooloolaba Triathlon, the centrepiece of a three-day multisport event. The festival has grown to become one of Australia’s largest triathlons and is the first leg of the prestigious ITU World Cup which attracts elite competitors from across the globe.

A languid aquatic lifestyle is right here at your doorstep. And Mooloolaba’s central location close to major attractions, golf courses, walking trails and hinterland drives makes it a perfect base.
